The characters of sheep are so varied that I am always drawn to attempting to capture them.

In our region, the Upper Eden Valley and the Westmorland Dales, there are many Swaledales, Rough Fell, Scottish Blackface, Herdwicks, Texels and mules but occasionally, on our travels, we encounter breeds which are less common where we live.

I always enjoy coming across these different subjects and try to record such sightings, and the following images are a combination of characterful local individuals and more unusual, distant finds.
