Living, as we do, near the borders of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty of North Pennines and in the sheep farming country of the surrounding hills, we see a huge number of sheep.

One of the most recognisable breeds, and a common one where hardiness is an important factor, is the Swaledale – recognisable by its circles of grey-white around its eyes and the grey-white nose and muzzle.

They are also incredibly photogenic!
