Engine 35018 Passing Through Mallerstang.

A typically wet, somewhat grey, day down Mallerstang as winter moves into spring, but the timetabled appearance of the steam engines on the Settle-Carlisle line transform it into an opportunity to showcase another joy of our region. The excitement palpable as warnings of the train’s approach vibrate through the track, and its appearance, accompanied by billowing steam, evoke memories of by-gone times and fuel nostalgia.
